Senator Grassley Blows Whistle On IRS Program; Seeks Action

Senate Finance Committee Senior Member Charles Grassley (R-Iowa) is pushing IRS-Commissioner Nominee John Koskinen to lead the IRS in better processing whistleblower claims.  While there have been a number of whistleblowers who provided information on tax scofflaws, the payouts to these whistleblowers have been few and far between.  Senator Grassley looks to change this, noting that the unpaid taxes are an important source of potential revenue to the federal government and should be collected from those who don’t pay before taxes are increased on the millions of law-abiding Americans who voluntarily comply with the tax law.
