Erik R. Giannitrapani is a senior associate in the Philadelphia Office of Pietragallo Gordon Alfano Bosick & Raspanti, LLP. He is a member of our nationwide Qui Tam/False Claims Act Group. Mr. Giannitrapani works on all aspects of False Claims Act litigation including depositions, discovery (including e-discovery), and government disclosures. He also works on matters related to Health Care Law and the Anti-Kickback statute.
Mr. Giannitrapani has been involved in the recovery of over $244 million for state and federal taxpayers and has litigated numerous high profile Qui Tam cases including:
- United States ex rel. Mason, Folstad, and MEMA v. HMA, et. al. resulting in a $74.5 million recovery
- United States ex rel. Miller & Metts v. HMA, et. al. resulting in a $55 million recovery
- United States ex rel. Cho v. Surgery Partners Inc., et al. resulting in a $41 million recovery
- United States ex rel. Mason, Folstad, and MEMA v. EMCARE, et. al. resulting in a $30 million recovery
- United States ex rel. Baker v. Physician Partners of Am LLC resulting in a $24.5 million recovery
- United States ex rel. Lutz et al. v. Laboratory Corporation of America Holdings resulting in a $19 million recovery
Mr. Giannitrapani earned his B.A., in English, at The University of Richmond and he earned his J.D. from Temple University School of Law. During law school, he participated in the ABA Tax Competition as Team Captain. Mr. Giannitrapani received his high school diploma from Archmere Academy.
In his free time, Mr. Giannitrapani enjoys chess, cooking, and running. He is currently admitted to practice law in The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the State of New Jersey.
